Following-up on my previous series “High Tide”, depicting the bleaching of corals and receding of reefs, treated in blue colors, I am presenting this new series: “RED”. RED is a reaction to the manifestation of climate change and anthropogenic interventions, with intense fires resulting from increased droughts and heat. Those have recently affected wide expanses of lands in several regions of the world: Amazonia, California, Australia and the southern regions of Europe. The Series is built upon a theoretical evolution over time through a darkening of colors and a receding presence of the forests. I have worked with an array of colors representing forests, water and obviously fire and I am exploring a technique that allows me to merge colors without losing their strength and depth.
